- JR R: Thank you very much. Not exactly, Heidi was a TV show in 1974, it was a very sweet Afrikaans animation, that was actually a Japanese anime translated into Afrikaans. The intro is the only song in the show. The song is in Dutch, but the Afrikaans version was sung by Laurika Rauch. That's basically all I know of Heidi. If you'd like, you can google Heidi on YouTube and the original episodes should show. I hope that you like it.

- Jurgens Krause: Afrikaans kids grew up with Laurika Rauch singing this song. It was only when I listened to it again as an adult that I realized how sad a song it actually is. For those who do not speak Afrikaans, it is about a farmer who is struggling to make it through a drought.
